Life is a bottle of thoughts. The bottle is but a leaky one, pouring out thoughts in humans by the second. Among such thoughts come “What is my purpose in life”. Ever wondered that? If so then I’ll try to help you find this answer in today’s words.
Why We Ask “What Is My Purpose in Life”
The question is not of “Why” we ask this from ourselves but a question of “When!”. Sooner or later the human consciousness will put this idea in one’s head, rather it happens to you in the teens or in your 60s, it WILL happen. Human nature is complicated yet contradictingly such simple, it can thrive in the most chaotic environments yet crumble in the depths of its own brain. “Why do we exist”, “Why am I here”, “what is life”, these are all the questions the subconscious and the conscious of human nature forces upon itself. We ask not because we can, but because we HAVE TO.
How Reflection Leads Us to Discover Purpose
Life is not an easy one, it is hard, like really hard. To find a balance between surviving and thriving is not possible. We are so involved in our daily needs, work, families, friends and hobbies that we have forgotten the ultimate idea of “thinking”. We humans have forgotten the skill of making our minds speak, and the mind speaks by thinking indeed. We have to give space to the beautiful organ on top of our body; the brain, and the way we do that is giving it time and room to carry out its daily dose of evaluation. We HAVE to think, it is how we can find the questions and in-time answer them too. If you are starting to feel that you are asking yourself alot, it doesn’t make you any lesser of a human rather it makes you more of it. To think is to live, we have to force ourselves to reflect, if we reflect within ourselves like how socrates mentioned, we will be able to find our answers….Eventually.
When Dreams Fade: Finding Direction in Life
Have you lost in life?, Have you already given up the idea of believing?, Is life not of precious value to you?, If its a yes then we need to know why you interpret things like that. You might have had a dream you so wanted and things had been going exactly how you wanted them to be, but it just went downhill, right?, If so then congrats! you experienced what EVERY single person feels, its called “Life”. Why do you even think that you’re in control of things, you are not, we are not, life is a beautiful mess, it is a hub of problems and catharsis but you just have to accept the fact of it. We cannot give up just because we lost a dream, because a dream is a dream it is not the LITTERAL definition of life, life is a puddle of problems we so escape, it is the web of chaos we so tango with, Just let things breath….and breath yourself.
The Small Moments That Reveal Big Purpose
Look at the smile of a boy-toddler, do you think he cares about “what is my purpose in life?”, he doesn’t know what’s coming for him but he doesn’t care because he has the warmth of his mother. I’ll keep it short here, find the WARMTH in your life, find the meaning of it, find a version of this warmth and it’ll help you find a purpose. Some may call it delusion, some may call it escape, but who cares?, Find yourself an escape in life and thrive in it, we are all living for the first time and we dont know much, so lets finds a purpose of our own through the gut feelings we have. And if your feeling was wrong then what?, who cares, go find something else this time, keep on finding something all the time and you’ll keep on getting better.
How Poetry Guides Our Journey Within
For me, poetry was the “escape”, if that is how you want to put it. You dont have to write like me in order to feel, there are many ways to feel. Do what pleases you, if its reading poetry so be it, connect with the words of others and feel their perspective on “purpose”. But if you ask me poetry does guide the journey of one in many ways. It helps one understand ideologies, perceptions, thoughts of authors that look at life from different angles. In my book Poetic views I have emphasized a lot on feeling the words of poets. Though at the end of the day it is YOUR purpose and you have to find it your own way, poetry or no poetry, does not matter.
